Benjamin Martinez-Lizaola (b. 2001) is a Mexican-American composer whose works have been performed by collegiate ensembles and public schools across the country.
His piece Groovy Oysters was a finalist in the Colorado Wind Ensemble’s 2025–2026 Inclusive Repertoire Award competition, and his work The Stream Under a Bridge earned third place in the 2025 Phi Beta Mu/Claude T. Smith Memorial Composition Contest.
Benjamin holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Akron and a master’s degree from the University of New Hampshire.
He currently resides in the Akron, Ohio area, where he writes music and gives clinics throughout the region.
