6′ / Brass Choir / $45 PDF Score and Parts
The title comes from a burst of energy I had one day during winter break. After a semester full of writing academic papers and completing assignments, I was relieved to go back to my normal life of doing tedious tasks again.
The piece has two major themes, the first being a joyful phrase first heard in the horns to represent the course of the semester, the second being a legato melody that keeps on pushing as the end of break is close and the dawn of a new semester is coming.
This work was written for the University of Akron Brass Choir and their director, Christopher Blaha.
