Squares and other parallel shapes was written for my good friend and colleague Noah Whetstone and his saxophone quartet.

The piece in variation form, with each variation having its own shape associated with it. The idea behind having this work in variation form comes from the title, in which the thing that all parallel shapes have in common are their, well, parallel lines.
